Concept of Mainstream Education
Before we talk about the objectives of mainstream school, we need to know what is meant by the term “mainstream school”
Mainstream friendly school is a school that puts students with disabilities into the same class with their peers who have not any disability at certain times based on their skills. It means that students that are part of a special education classrooms take part in the regular education classrooms.
OBJECTIVES OF MAINSTREAM SCHOOL
1. To include the students with disabilities into normal classrooms while giving them the same opportunities as other students to gain access to instruction.
2. Gaining knowledge by students with disabilities.
3. Grow students with disabilities.
4. Allow students with disabilities to participate in the academic and socializing environments that a school has to offer.

This is the main objective of mainstream school as it allows equal opportunities to all kinds of students regardless of their abilities and background. All children deserve an equal chance at an education, this is not necessarily a right or a privilege in some countries, however, in the united states no matter the academic level, economic status, or cultural background, every child is granted a free appropriate public education (FAPE) by law. More specifically, neither a school nor an individual teacher can exclude a student based on his or her disability.
2. Gaining knowledge by students with disabilities:
The main aim of every learning activity is to gain knowledge by an individual. most of the mainstreaming schools allow students with disabilities to enter a general education classroom with the teacher as their co-teacher, or with assistant who knows the students and can ensure that he/she is accessing all the instructional materials and learning contents.
3. Grow students with disabilities:
By allowing students with disabilities to engage in learning activities along with their normal peers they eventually begin to learn the way of the grown-ups, learn skills, and knowledge. However, they will have the opportunity to feel and have an experience of how it feels like to be considered normal enough to learn in a regular classroom.
